To Bra Or Not To Bra

Back in the ‘60s women were burning their bras. This had very little to do with health issues and more to do with taking a stand for women's rights. Burning bras became an iconic symbol of women’s independence from men. Today, the subject of bras centers more on appearance and concerns for our health than on making a political statement. The question remains: To bra or not to bra? As a woman who has a large bosom, I have heard every piece of advice about how to treat my breasts properly. “Wear a bra all the time, even when you sleep; Never wear a bra; Don't wear underwires; Wear underwires--” the list goes on and on. For each bit of advice I’ve gotten in one direction, someone else has given me the opposite. Honestly, at the end of the day I’m thrilled when I can take it off and be free. Although the bra is a relatively new invention, women have used various means to support or bind their breasts since ancient times. I’m glad we don’t live times when "civilized...

Project Wiped

Project Wiped By Robert Hecker Chapter One The Gas It was an amazing day! The sun was shining, leaves were falling to the ground gracefully, and the birds were singing on this beautiful Autumn day in Florida. The year was 2083, no real advancements since 2018, except for a few new technical advancements like holo-screens and better security systems, you know, the boring stuff. The government was said to be “corrupted”, but America would go into a panic without them. They made all big decisions and didn’t make many “bad” choices until the day that their true colors showed, and they weren’t red white and blue. So, let me tell you how one man could save the earth. Well, he’s not really a man, he was more of a teenager. His name was Jason Williams. He had a rather minimalistic style. He wore a green short sleeve hoodie and a pair of wore down jeans. He was not what one would call large or muscular but was on the thinner side. He looked like a boy just starting to beco...

Wild Willy the Mischievous Goat

Wild Willy the Mischievous Goat   By, Becky Davis The pigs were done grunting, the ducks were done quacking, the sheep were done bleating, and the horse his eating. Evening had set on Hancock farm. Wild Willy the mischievous goat went out for a twilight stroll. He looked here and there and found that the humans had left the door slightly ajar. "Well, they are asleep... They wouldn't even know I went inside." he remarked to himself. Willy stepped inside and saw the ugliest thing that he had ever seen! It looked like it's face was squished in. "Ew! What on earth are you?"  The cat was indignant! He hissed in reply, "I am a Persian cat! Did you know my ancestors lived with royalty?" "Didn’t know, and still don't care!" snickered the goat. "Get out of this house and once!" roared the cat. Willy ignored him and went into the living room. Crash! Willy knocked down a small bookshelf which crashed down and shattered the ...

Their mother, Talia walked in to watch her cute little babies.  "Mama!" her boys shouted. " Mama come play!"  "Alright, alright" Talia agreed after a few minutes.  After playing for a time Talia had to finish up her chores so she left the room. A few minutes later she heard… CRASH!!! Talia came running in. "Are you okay? Did someone get hurt?!" she said in a panic. As she stops in front of her boys, her eyes fall on a broken lamp. "Who broke the lamp?" All three kittens look at each other.  "I didn't" Ted said. "Nope didn't do it" Toby confessed. "Nor me" said lil Tim.  "Now, Now please don't lie, tell me who broke the lamp" Talia asked once more. "Timmy must have. He's closest." Toby accused.  ...

Deadly Research

Deadly Research By: Victoria Haigh I Got it! No, I couldn’t have. Well, could it be that easy? The Avera virus has taken the lives of millions of people. It was the next medical villain that came after cancer. Did I truly just find the cure for this disease? I keep going back and forth doubting myself yet finding no flaws in the work. “ Denise, I ’m going home so I can look at the numbers again tomorrow with a fresh set of eyes,” I say to my lab partner as I grab my purse. “Alrighty! You’ve been at this for days, so please go relax! I’ll see you tomorrow,” she kindly replied. Denise is a compassionate, older woman who helps make sure my brain doesn’t overheat when I am researching Avera. She’s worked here at the University of Technology, otherwise known as U of T, when the cure for cancer was found there. It is a beautiful night for my walk home from work. I can see some stars peaking out from the city lights, and I hear some bird chirping in the distance. As I ma...
